About Our School

Welcome To Enfield Street Elementary School!  Enfield Street School (ESS) is a great place to learn!  ESS’ principal, Deborah Berger, and her outstanding teaching staff will make you feel welcome!  You’ll see how the statement “A World of Learners” clearly defines what happens at Enfield Street School.

ESS celebrates our children, their imagination, their positive choices and accomplishments, their progress.  Students are aware of the purpose of learning and are more confident.  Having ownership in their school and a heightened sense of community, students are better equipped with decision-making skills to meet the challenges of society.

·    The student body consists of about 300 students, on average, ranging from Kindergarten to 2nd Grade, including Special Education.

·    Our school logo is a cluster of gingko leaves (see title page) from the gingko tree. The gingko tree has been in existence for over 150 million years, survived an ice age and is the oldest living tree species, earning it the nickname “living fossil”. Found predominantly in the west where the climate is warm, the tree sprouts “flowers” during winter and in the spring these buds unfold into green leaves, each with a unique pattern. Through the summer the leaves continue to grow and turn a deep green until fall when they become gold. The leaf, therefore, represents characteristics like strength, adaptability, perseverance and vitality.  These characteristics are those to which we, teachers, parents, and student body alike, aspire at Enfield Street School.

·    School colors are maroon and gray. School spirit merchandise is available for purchase through the PTO.
